Spring Celebration

Spring in Sakuragi-cho

In Tokyo, finally, Spring has come. Last week (last week of March through early April) was the peak of Sakura (Cherryblossoms) in Tokyo. Although the weather was not that good during the peak time, we were able to enjoy a little bit of Sakura trees on the weekend when the sun came out in the afternoon. The pictures are from Sakuragi-cho, a few stations away from Yokohama in Kanagawa prefecture. I had not visted Sakuragi-cho for a while so it made me feel really good to be back in the area. The city is where I used to visit a lot when I was in college. There are a lot more new shopping malls and places to visit compared to when I was in college. Every shopping mall in the area is not close to one another so if you plan to visit Sakuragi-cho for shopping, you better wear your sneakers and get ready for a long walk!

One of my favorite shopping malls in Sakuragi-cho now is called Marine & Walk Yokohama (MARINE & WALK YOKOHAMA(マリン アンド ウォーク ヨコハマ) (marineandwalk.jp)). My recommendation is a boutique called “COS” in this mall. COS is the London-based brand where you can find affordable, stylish, and comfortable clothes.

Shikitei Restaurant

We were in Sakuragi-cho to celebrate my mother’s birthday so went to a restaurant called Shikitei which is located inside the Royal Park Hotel. The resutaurant is on the 68th floor of the hotel so the view from there was stunning! They serve Japanese course menu which uses seasonal ingredients of Japan.
